Earlier this week Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson went on personal leave. Turns out, Craig took time off to comfort his wife Nicholle as she was diagnosed with cancer.
After fellow goaltender Andrew Hammond went down with an injury Friday night, Anderson’s wife Nicholle insisted that he would go back and help the Senators in their game against Edmonton.
Well Anderson did and it was a big one.
In the Sen’s big win yesterday, Anderson put up a big goose egg. That’s right a very emotional shutout against the Edmonton Oilers.

What class by the Edmonton Oilers organization and fans for showing so much respect to Anderson and his family.
There is still no news on what cancer Nicholle is battling with but not only is the hockey world behind him, the whole city of Ottawa is behind Craig his wife and his family.
