They call it, the “Andromeda Initiative”

It’s just a few days before November 7th (N7 Day) and EA and Bioware are teasing information about the highly anticipated Mass Effect: Andromeda. The original trilogy of Mass Effect games became extremely popular in their time. A narrative-driven universe to interact with? Yup. Genuinely interesting supporting cast? Oh yes. A wide range of combat mechanics and excellent game feel? For sure.

They weren’t perfect games though. If you paid me to ride the MAKO again, I’d flat out refuse.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is a reinvigoration of the series. A new game to shake things up and feel fresh. The gravelly-voiced narrator speaks of the legacy of earth as the starting point for humanity. Our wanderlust knows no bounds however, and the video reflects that. It’s written like a farewell, perhaps final, to that blue marble we call home. The narrator calls out for “the brave, the inquisitive” to reach beyond our humble beginnings. It’s an opportunity to join the Andromeda Initiative.

A link through the video brings you to Mass Effect’s home page, asking you to sign up for a newsletter to stay updated on the game. It promises something on November 7th. We’ll have to wait and see what the surprise is.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release for Spring 2017 to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, and Xbox One.
