WHO LOVES FOOD!! I’m excited to share that I’m kicking off a new adventure with my series, “Will Make and Will Eat,” where I’ll be making meals, talking about food, sharing life experiences, and then, of course, eating! For my pilot post, I decided to make a simple yet delicious dish: Chicken and Veg Fried Rice!
I went through several ideas for my first meal to record and discuss, eventually narrowing it down to this fried rice or soft tacos (which will be featured next!). I ultimately picked fried rice because its simplicity is such a huge advantage. Cooking the rice while boiling water for the other steps really speeds up the prep time. Plus, fried rice is a fantastic starter meal for anyone looking to learn!
Here’s what I used for the ingredients:
– 1 cup of rice
– Frozen leftover veggies
– Frozen leftover chicken
– Kimchi
– Hoisin sauce
– Soy sauce
– Fish sauce
As for the process, it was super efficient! The whole meal took only about 25 minutes to prep and cook, and then an additional 10 minutes to clean up afterwards. Most of the cooking happens in one pan, which makes it a perfect weeknight meal.
Here’s a cool tip: because I used leftovers, this multi-portion meal cost me less than a single order at McDonald’s! I still have plenty of ingredients left over for future meals.
So, stay tuned for more on “Will Make and Will Eat!” I can’t wait to share my next dish with you!
