Today Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that Ottawa along with Toronto and Peel regions will move back to a modified Stage 2 due to the extreme spike in cases of Covid-19. Effective at 12:01am on Saturday October 10,2020 Ottawa will be moving to this stage for a minimum of the next 28 days.
The restrictions will include no indoor dining at all establishments including food courts, no gyms are allowed to operate indoors, no casinos or bingo halls along with other gaming establishments will be allowed to be open along with cinemas, performing arts centers or venues. They will also have to close interactive exhibits that have a risk of high touch surfaces in zoos, museums or other galleries along with landmarks and science centers.
On top of these Ottawa will also no longer allow personal care services that you must remove face masks while having the service. The government also announced that all tour and guide services must reduce capacity to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors, Real Estate open houses must only allow 10 people indoors, where physical distancing can be maintained, In-person teaching and instruction (e.g., cooking class,) must be limited to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors, with exemptions for schools, child care centers, universities, colleges of applied arts and technology, private career colleges, the Ontario Police College, etc.
The last of the restrictions include meeting and event spaces must limit capacity to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors, as well as limiting team sports to training sessions (no games or scrimmages) and effective Tuesday October 13,2020 at 12:01am they will be temporarily suspending all wedding receptions.
